Artist Statement

"Women should feel special wearing one of my designs. When I match a client with a piece of glass jewelry and her eyes light up with excitement reflecting the glass piece on her ear lobes, around her neck, or on her wrist, I know the piece has found a perfect match."

Bio
The marriage of glass and bead has been a remarkable personal journey.  It is one of patience, practice, and constant learning and experimentation.

Along the way I have studied with talented people whose passions for glass and teaching make learning a feast for the senses.  Glass is my joy of life.

I began bead making in the summer of 1997, using a hot head torch on our porch. Then I studied with Shane Fero/Frederick Birkhill at the Dearborn Campus of University of Michigan at a weekend workshop. This experience made me want more knowledge and skill so I drove to Corning, New York to study with Tom and Sage Holland for a week in the summer of 2001 and really advanced my skill level. I returned to Corning in 2003 for a week long class with the great Loren Stump! Then in 2004 I studied bead making with Caitlyn Hyde, a highly talented bead maker. In 2005 I took a weekend workshop in flameworking with Lucio Bubacco, a master artist from Murano, Italy. In 2007 I took classes with J.C. Herrell and Kristina Logan both wonderful!
