Just this year, Labor Day Weekend, 2000, I met some of my cousins at a family reunion, for the first time . Earlier in the year, while working on my family genealogy, I wrote to several Pfeifers in Galion, Ohio whom I believed to be related. I told them that I believed that we had a common ancestor, Christian Pfeifer. He is my great-great grandfather was their great grandfather.
They called me and invited my family to their family reunion. It turned out they are my father's second cousins. Prior to that, we never knew each other. We exchanged family information at the reunion.
