Were you enrolled in either the EE or CSE department? Do you fondly recall that the Engineering Building was on the main campus (where it was meant to be)? Do you remember measuring the antenna tower using nothing more than a protractor, a straw, a tape measure and trigonometric identities? Did you hang out in the "IEEE Lounge" before, between, and after every class? Do you remember the late-night study sessions as you tried to master Laplace transforms, Walsh functions, communication theory, filter design, and various circuit theory scenarios? Do you remember walking bleary-eyed out of the "lounge" after an all-night study session, carrying one hundred pounds of books only to be greeted by the sight of all the business students playing frisbee on the lawn? Do you remember the "WE'VE GOT JOBS!" chant at graduation in 1987? Do you remember where you were, and what you were doing when you first experienced the mind-numbing speed of a 386-class personal computer? |
