My Photo Gallery
This is a (composite) picture of our pond taken in
summer 2004. It gives me a feeling of well-being and
connection to Nature to sit and think about the balance of life-forces
present in the pond as a reflection of the larger balance of life-forces on
our planet. I hope the balance on earth continues: as we pump more and more
green house gases into the atmosphere, the possibility of catastrophic
climate changes increases. Acid rain, mercury, toxic chemicals and other
pollutants are already known to have a sever deleterious effect on life.
Climate and weather is one of the most
complex systems in nature; science is only beginning to understand causes
and effects at work in it. That means that the ideas, hypotheses, and
theories about man's effect on the earth's climate are in flux. It does not
mean that America (or the world) can afford to have a president that is
incompetent in dealing with scientific matters, as we now have with George W
Bush as president.
George W Bush's ignorance (or is it just
complicity?) in his failure to enforce the Clean Air, Clean Water and other
anti-pollution efforts is criminal.
