    Modern Language Class
    This is an exploratory course for 8th graders at Gateway Middle School, Maumee, Ohio. The purpose of the course is to give students the opportunity to explore three languages offered at the high school—French, Spanish, and German—and help them prepare for high school foreign language. During the course of the semester, we also talk about why foreign language is important, how being proficient in a foreign language can be useful career-wise, and how to take responsibility for one's learning and find ways to practice the language outside of class.

    This is a brochure I created for parents about how to help their son/daughter succeed in high school foreign language.
    Strategies for Success in Foreign Language

    This is a unit created for my eighth grade modern language students to help them understand what is involved in learning a foreign language and give them the chance to discover techniques that will help them succeed in high school and other foreign language learning opportunities.     On these web sites, I have created many games, activities, and quizzes to help students practice their vocabulary and culture knowledge at home. They can use TWO of these activities to fulfill one study option on their weekly homework sheet.

    Note: Homework sheets specify content to be studied for the week. For example, if we are learning body parts and numbers 1-39, then make sure you choose Quia activities that cover those topics.
