The Shop
The shop was fairly busy
throughout the year. In the early part of
the year, I finally managed to finish the banks for each of the
grandchildren. They are made out of walnut and the doors are from
old post office boxes. They make nice banks and the kids quickly
learn to manipulate the combinations. Each contains a "time
capsule" which is an aluminum film can with a message
inside. These
are taped shut with the admonition that they are not to be opened until
the noted date which is the 21st birthday of the child.

Kris
and Brett have long needed a table for their dining alcove. They
have been using the table that we bought when we moved into our
first house. They found a design for a trestle table that they
liked and I built it for them out of cherry.
We also built a wine rack for a storage area. It will hold 90
bottles of wine. More than I am likely to put there or even
drink.
Finally, I spent a week cleaning the shop and all of the tools.
Hadn't done that for a few years. A few pictures are included
since it may never be this clean again.
