Birthdays
In the course of a year, we
accumulate lots of birthday pictures.
So
it seemed to make sense to make "Birthdays" a link and include family
pictures there. The first birthday of the year belongs to Alex on
January 25. Unfortunately, we were unable to be there for the
celebration, but Dave supplied us with some photos.
One
of his friends from daycare was invited to the small family party and
Dave was able to capture the "frosting on the face" picture. It
is hard to believe that Alex is about to be 4.

Jessa turned three on February
14th. The custom in the Lenart family is for Brett to make a cake with
whatever theme the girls choose. Jessa and Mira both enjoy the
"Cars" movie and Jessa selected that as her theme. Brett obliged
and the result was the cake to the right.

Jessa blew out the candles and everyone
enjoyed some delicious cake. Birthdays are generally family
affairs and Grandpa Dave, Grandma Julie, Grannny Jannie, Papa
Rob, Uncle
Todd, Aunt Jennie, and cousins Riley and Emmy were all
present to help celebrate.
A birthday party means presents and
this one was no exception. Mira is always around to help.
Kris and Phyl both have April birthdays
but did not seem to get any pictures. Next year we will have to
work harder to document all of our birthdays.
As we noted in the Chidester section,
we always celebrate everybody's birthday while at the cottage.
However, two birthdays occurred near our time there and we celebrated
them while at the lake. Dave and Brett each got honored and had a
chance to open some gifts. Brett is going to try some ravioli one
of these days. We have to wait to see what is in Dave's boxes
before we know what he will be doing.

We do have a good time when
we get together. The next round of birthdays is in October with
Mira, Millie and Al all celebrating birthdays. Dave had some
vacation and they were able to make a trip to Lambertville in
October. It was fun to have them here for a week and we were able
to put together a family celebration. In addition, Mira had a
party for her friends at "Jungle Java," and a family party for her
whole family.
Mira chose animals as
her theme and her cake was covered with a variety of
beasts. This was the cake that was used at her family
celebration. It is still hard to believee
that she is six years old. It seems like just yesterday that we
were holding her little newborn body in our arms. She is growing
into a bright, lovely young lady. It should be obvious that we
are very proud of her as we are of Jessa, Alex and their parents.

Mira hit the jackpot on celebrations
this year. She had a party for her friends, a party for her
entire family, and, then, was part of the Palmer family party. I
think that she even got presents at all of the parties.
In any event, we had yet another cake
with ice cream for children dig into and get all over their
faces. It is the obligatory photo from any kids party.
